Greetings Hilltop Families,

We have a few short announcements/reminders as we begin this new week.

Pennies for Patients Next Week: Next week (March 6-10) we will be collecting coins for Pennies for Patients, an organization that helps fight in the battle against cancer. Each day there will be a different theme and our school wide goal for the week is $500.

Monday: Pajama Penny Day- Don’t forget to put your pennies in the pockets of your favorite pajamas!

Tuesday: Neon Nickels Day- Wear your brightest neon and bring in nickels!

Wednesday: Dazzling Dimes Day- Donate dimes & wear something shiny or something that makes you different & unique!

Thursday: Crazy Quarters Day- Wear a crazy hat and/or socks to school and cash in your quarters!

Friday: Team up for Leukemia- Wear your favorite team’s jersey or colors and collect all coins and dollars!

Spring Break: This is a friendly reminder that our school Spring Break is March 13-24. School will resume on Monday March 27.

2017-2018 School Registration: Registration for next school year is now open! Please go to hilltopcs.net and login with your parent username/password. Click on the “17-18 Registration” tab. Review/update the information as needed. Click the "Create Registration Forms" button at the bottom of the page, print and sign the forms, turn in forms to the HCS office. If you would prefer, you can also complete the registration in the school office.

If you submit the registration papers with $100 deposit by March 1, you will receive a $100 discount on your first months statement. Registration papers with a $100 deposit received by April 1, will receive a $50 discount on your first months statement. Classes are filling up quickly so be sure to pay your deposit to guarantee your child’s spot for next year!

2017-2018 Scholarships : Scholarships for 2017-2018 are now available. Please stop by the school office to pick-up an application if you are interested. Scholarships are “first come first serve” and are awarded according to household size/income. All applications will be considered incomplete unless a 1040 tax form is submitted with the application. If you are currently receiving scholarship/financial assistance, you will need to reapply and submit the appropriate forms to the school office.

Acts of Kindness: This year our newly assembled student council members have chosen to do “Acts of Kindness” as a school service project. Beginning this week, if your child does something kind for someone else they can write it on slips of paper that will be located in your child’s  classroom (please see list of ideas on attached paper). Acts of kindness slips will be linked together and will be displayed in the gym during the second semester. Additionally, if you snap a photo of your child doing something kind for someone else we will display it in the gym with their Acts of Kindness slip.

Box Tops for Education: Has your child been collecting box tops? remember, Box Tops should be turned into your child’s classroom teacher. The class with the most Box Tops collected at the end of each quarter will receive a special treat from Home and School. Thank you for your help with this ongoing fundraiser for our school.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!
